May 8h, 2014 - Ogilvie, Minnesota
By: FYE Motorsports Promotions
After months of an ongoing pending sale of the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota from owner Corey Owens to former Montana businessman Glen Lawres, the sale has stalled and Owens plans on opening the track with current management in place as soon as the wet spring Minnesota weather allows. Owens said ‘this sale has been delayed many times and we owe it to our great racers, fans and sponsors to get the season underway, so we have decided to call off the sale and get our season started as soon as we can.’
Track General Manager Nate Fischer said ‘we are excited to finally get the 2014 season underway as soon as the rains quit. It’s been a difficult offseason for us to get fully prepared to open with the pending sale taking so long, but now that we know the sale hasn’t gone through and we can focus on what we do best, we plan to kick off the season next Saturday.’
Fischer also wanted to make sure that anyone who has been approached by Mr. Lawres and/or paid for any sponsorships should call Lawres directly to be reimbursed or call Nate at (763) 267-4572 or email email@example.com to make him aware of this and he will get you pointed in the right direction to get refunded.
Also, any and all tickets purchased on Groupon, Living Social, Crowd Cut or any online ticket vendor site will not be valid or honored. People who purchased them should contact the online ticket companies directly for refunds.
If anyone is contacted by Lawres, claiming to be associated with Ogilvie Raceway, those individuals should contact Fischer immediately to make him aware of the situation plus businesses should not write checks for any type of sponsorships/advertising to Mr. Lawres directly.
Anyone looking to advertise with Ogilvie Raceway is encouraged to contact Fischer as well.
Ogilvie Raceway’s 2014 season opener will take place on Saturday, May 17th at 6:30pm featuring WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mod Fours and Hornets. Gates open at 4pm with draw cutoff at 6pm. For more information please contact www.ogilvieraceway.com. The track is planning an open practice session on Saturday, May 10th from 11am-3pm as well.
